Gnarls Barkley is the musical collaboration between Brian Burton AKA Danger Mouse and Thomas Callaway AKA Cee-Lo Green. Gone Daddy Gone is a 1982 song written by Gordon Gano and originally recorded by his group the Violent Femmes for their 1982 eponymous debut album. Gnarls Barkley’s version was released with Who Cares as a double A-Side single from the album St. Elsewhere, in November 2006. The music video has been directed by Chris Milk and produced by Barbara Benson at Radical Media. Editor: Kevin Zimmerman at Whitehouse. Director of photography: Eric Schmidt. Animation: Sabotage. One inspiration for the “photo-mated” part of the video might have been this French AIDS awareness campaign for AIDES. Also, there was a (rather different) music video with the band actually residing in the pubic hair of some chick, until she epilates. Can anybody name it? |
